Abstract

The great Scholar, Sheikh Adam Abdullahi al-Iloriyis one of the great Scientists endowed in literature, poetry and prose, and in the Islamic studies.He is a man of letter, Critic and a prominent in the domain of Arabic Literature in Nigeria.This reflected in his linguistic, literary, historical and Islamic writings.The research displayed the nature of the criticism he has in terms of literary taste and reasoning. The research worked on the critical features of Sheikh Adam al-Ilory which represented in critique of criticism,the issue of literature growth and decline and the issue of plagiarism in authoring and historical criticism. Then the researcher concluded the research with some findings, such as amiability and ability of Sheikh Adam al-Ilory to respond to great critics,he was able to cope with views of Professors while he founded the view of literature growth in the modern epoch, he made signal towards plagiarism.Thus, these excellences show his pioneering on the Nigerian Arabic Criticism.
